Firstly, it's important to understand that even considering therapy is a positive step!
People come to me with a broad range of personal and relationship challenged, to discover how therapy can help them.
See below for some of the more common challenges people encounter, for which therapy can be a great help.
The price per session is generally £100.
However, I do believe in making therapy accessible to as many people as possible. I offer a discounted rate (from £60 per session) for:
- Clients who have a public sector job (including teachers, social workers and nurses)
- Single income families
- Younger people starting out on their careers
I’m very happy to have this conversation at the beginning.
To help you decide if you would like to try therapy, I have found it best if we just meet for a session as there is usually a lot to discuss and it helps give you a better sense of whether I can be of help to you. However I can offer a free 20 minute telephone or video call appointment if you would prefer.
I provide therapy both in-person at the practice in Tufnell Park and also over the phone and via video calls. It's whatever method works best for you.
This differs depending on what you want and require from therapy and really it's up to you to decide as we go along.
Some people come for a few sessions when they have particular focus - something they want to work on. People with quite focused aims will typically attend regularly for a few months and then stop when they feel they have achieved what they want to achieve.
Some people come for longer - sometimes even running into the years. And of course it is fine to do this too if you feel you need ongoing support.
So it really does depend on the nature of your difficulties and what you want from therapy, as well as what you are prepared to commit to (in terms of time and finances).
There is certainly no pressure to book any more sessions than you think is right for you.
I’m always happy to review our progress. I like to make people feel comfortable they can try therapy out.
For families with younger children I normally advise for the parents to meet with me first.
For couples it is advised that you both meet me together from the beginning.
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. I operate a 48-hour working cancellation policy and will not charge you if you cancel in advance of this time.
If you cancel with less than 48-hour notice, or do not attend your scheduled appointment, you will be charged at the full fee. In some situations (such as a severe emergency) I will waiver the fee.
I aim to be flexible and, where possible, we will try to rearrange your appointment.
For individuals a session is 55 mins. For couples and families it's 1 hour 15 mins.
I typically offer weekly or fortnightly sessions because regularity and consistency in attending sessions is important to help you make progress with your difficulties.
With couples and families I usually advise fortnightly sessions as the sessions times are longer.
I provide therapy online, via telephone and face to face in the practice in London.
I work with clients based in the UK and Internationally.
